Welcome to TotalPicture Radio, "The Voice Of Career and Leadership Acceleration." We produce broadcast quality interviews linking companies to customers, prospects, employees, and passive candidates.
TotalPicture Radio's in-depth interviews give a "total picture" of emerging trends; featuring industry experts, thought leaders, and for-real gurus to help high-potential professionals like you succeed with your career aspirations. We deliver career advice and advocacy through our conversations with successful practitioners, and by reporting the latest trends, innovations, insider knowledge, actionable information, and hidden resources to our listeners.
We are talk-radio TiVo
Our free podcasts are available 24x7 from multiple online resources, including this website. Interview guests have the opportunity to tell their stories in a relaxed atmosphere, without the time constraints imposed by commercial radio and cable television business news/information programming. Most of our interviews run twenty minutes or more. You'll find our podcasts on iTunes, Zune Marketplace, SpokenWord and many podcast aggregation sites. The idea is to make our content available where, and when you want it.
TotalPicture Radio was founded in 2005 as Landed.fm. The name "Landed" came from TPR's founder, Peter Clayton, participating in community career networking organizations. Many of these organizations maintained Yahoo groups. When someone accepted a job and wanted to change their membership status, they would put "Landed" in the title of their Yahoo group message.
To help professionals in career transition "land" was the original, primary focus of Landed.fm. The employment market is a very different animal today than it was in 2005. And those Yahoo Groups? For the most part, they've migrated to Facebook and LinkedIn Groups.
As this podcast has grown and matured, the focus has shifted from "landing" to "taking off." We are interested in finding experts on topics such as social networks, job boards, the oil crisis, global warming, geopolitical issues, innovation, sustainability — as well as emerging trends which help our listeners broaden their knowledge, while advancing their careers. Back to the "total picture" concept. We changed the name to TotalPicture Radio in 2006. At the time, very few people knew what a podcast was, so we branded ourselves as TotalPicture Radio "The Voice Of Career And Leadership Acceleration."
We like to feature companies and leaders in our podcasts who believe competitive advantage derives, in a very important way, from talent. Geoff Colvin, Senior Editor at Large, FORTUNE said it best:
Top talent has never been more valuable, nor competition for it more fierce... After 500 years or so the scarcest, most valuable resource in business is no longer financial capital. It's talent.
