Jason Averbook, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer,of LeapGen, TotalPicture interviewJason Averbook

Once again this year, the attendees at UNLEASH America in Las Vegas will have MC Jason Averbook directing ideas, conversations, speakers, getting everyone into the flow of what I believe is the best HR Tech show on Earth. A couple of weeks ago I recorded a podcast with UNLEASH CEO Marc Coleman and I encourage anyone listening interested in HR and TA technology to tune-in to that interview.

Jason Averbook, a global thought leader, agent for change in HR and CEO and Co-Founder of Leapgen

Welcome to a Leadership Channel podcast on TotalPicture I'm your host Peter Clayton. I'm excited to welcome back to TotalPicture Jason Averbook, CEO and co-founder of Leapgen. Jason is a global thought leader, agent for change in HR and CEO and Co-Founder of Leapgen As one CEO has said about Jason, 'He just gets it and can put it into language that we get.' Jason is an author with a broad understanding of how technology can be applied to common business problems, helping organizations realize the benefits of such solutions.

TALKING POINTS:

Jason welcome back to TotalPicture.

I want to quote you from the podcast we recorded last year: "To me disruption equals reinvention plus technology. If disruption to an organization is just technology, more than likely it's not going to be disruption. It's going to disrupt but it's not going to be the kind of disruption that you want." It seems to me the last 12 month have just amplified that message, because, like it or not, disruption is everywhere and moving faster than ever. Would you agree?

You consult with some of the best known companies in the world. What are you finding is 'top of mind' today Jason, with the CEOs, CHROs, and other leaders you're speaking with?

Let's talk about UNLEASH Las Vegas, shall we? This year you're leading a number of Pre-Conference Workshops on Monday, May 14th. Quoting you again: "Our role as HR practitioners has changed forever. No longer are we implementing tools for the HR function; we are deploying solutions and capabilities for the workforce." Can you unpack this for us?

As you know, Jason I cover many events in HR Tech, recruiting, TA - a common complaint I hear from recruiters, specifically is - the legacy ATSs are difficult and time-consuming to use, some of the newer tech they're trying to implement can't be easily deployed within their existing systems and databases, they have 25 open reqs that need to be filled, and don't have the time (or interest, quite frankly) to figure out how to use something that they see has limited value. I'm sure you've heard this as well and will be discussing these issues in one of your workshop sessions.

Shifting for a moment to the candidate side of this equation, Amazon has not only disrupted the retail industry, it has provide us with an incredible user experience that is very very hard to replicate when it comes to applying for a job. The black hole is alive and well and mobile apply is still something that exists only on white boards in a lot of companies. And of course, the digital workforce experience for employees is not much better.

A lot of experts believe AI will disrupt the workforce in a dramatic way, eliminating many jobs over the next decade. I've seen statistics as high as 47% of current jobs will be eliminated. Recruiters believe they will be replaced with intelligent chatbots, many people working in HR believe HR tech and automation will replace them. What are your thoughts?

As I said in my open, you are MC again this year at UNLEASH America - another incredible line-up of speakers - anyone or anything in particular you're looking forward to at the Aria in Las Vegas?

I understand that you have a new book that's about to be published?

How can our listeners connect with you?
