Corey Michael Blake Biography

Corey Michael Blake founded Round Table Companies in 2007 to bring his passion for telling impactful stories to life in a brand new way. He believes that combining business and life principles with artistic delivery leads people on a journey that is different from what they experience with traditional information. The artistic medium of a graphic novel, for example, engages readers on a deeper emotional level while enhancing the impact of its author’s life changing messages.

Corey’s journey to writing, and eventually publishing, began in Hollywood in 1997 where he relocated after college and became the face of more than a dozen well-known commercial campaigns, including Hasbro, Yard Fitness and Mountain Dew. After years of commercials and guest appearances, he opted to actively pursue his passion for writing and producing and founded Elevation 9000 Films, where he played a key role in developing more than 300 screenplays and manuscripts. His entertainment work garnered nine festival awards, and he contributed articles to several industry publications including Script Magazine, Writer Magazine and the Los Angeles Journal.

In 2006, Corey moved back to Chicago and founded Writers of the Round Table, Inc. which was initially a writing company, and then created Round Table Companies in 2007 as a printing, packaging and creative resource for his first clients including Robert Renteria, Angelica Harris, and Alesia Shute. What began as a technical writing and marketing company, quickly branched into novels, publishing and packaging. Round Table Companies recently engaged some of the world’s best-selling non-fiction and business authors, such as Chris Anderson, to bring their titles to life visually in comic book form. This exciting new venture has led to the creation of a publishing imprint, continuing to expand the scope of Round Table Companies.

Corey co-authored several of the books published by the Round Table Companies imprint, including From the Barrio to the Board Room, which inspired the From the Barrio Foundation that uses the book, a classroom curriculum and Robert himself as tools to battle gang violence, substance abuse, and the school dropout rate around the country. Reaching over 50,000 kids with the original book inspired Corey and his team to develop the story into a comic book, which would lead the company’s foray into the world of graphic novels.
