Get Radical - Radical Careering

A podcast interview with career visionary, Sally Hogshead.

Radical Truth #100:  Make Your Memoirs Worth Reading

"To kill time in an uninspiring job, then another, and another, and then one day look back on a lifetime of meaningless effort... how tragic" - Sally Hogshead.

Sally Hogshead, author of Radical Careering published by Penguin Books
Sally Hogshead
I met Sally Hogshead last year, and recorded an extensive interview with her about her terrific book, Radical Careering 100 Truths to Jumpstart your Job, Your Career, and Your Life. In the months following, after numerous web site updates and software enhancements, her interview became tangled in bad code, and was unplayable. Well, we're bringing it back. It was that good, that radical, and every bit as relevant today as it was when first recorded. On her Web site, she poses a very simple question: "Do you have a career worth loving?"

The innovative use of design, type, and the format of Radical Careering, set a trend in the publishing industry which continues today.

Radical Truth #44 "Portable Equity is the Only form of Job Security Today."

Advertising executive, entrepreneur, and new mom writes; "I share this very personal story for a reason. Powerlessness comes in many forms, and our business has lots of deep, dark holes: toxic jobs, impossible clients, layoffs. There's rarely an easy way out of those holes. But once I'd experienced powerlessness for myself, I vowed I'd learn how to build ladders."

"For me, climbing out meant starting a second career, learning about business outside of advertising. Writing the book was the first step. Throughout this process, I found myself becoming a crash test dummy, personally tested by everything I was writing. I managed to survive, and so did 100 Radical Truths. But first, I had to re-learn a few of them along the way."

Radical Careering could become the owner's manual for the future you've been looking for.
