Vault.com has information, resources, and "from the horses' mouth" content you'll not find anywhere else. And most of it is free for the viewing. This is the Cluetrain Manifesto in action.
Samer Hamadeh is co-founder & CEO of Vault Inc. Vault's properties include Vault.com, TVSpy.com, the Vault Online Career Library, and over 100 print guides such as Guide to Schmoozing, College Buzz Book, and Guide to Resumes, Cover Letters, and Interviews. Before co-founding Vault, Samer was an associate at the Los Angeles management consulting firm LEK Consulting, where he focused on corporate and business strategy. A David Rockefeller Fellow, Samer holds a BS in chemistry and an MS in chemical engineering from Stanford University.
One incredibly valuable feature on Vault.com is the company and industry message boards. Here's an example from the Deloitte Message Board on Vault.com:
"With all the posts on this board regarding compensation and negotiation, would anyone be interested in gathering our first hand info together? Let me start with myself: Chicago office, Senior consultant position, top MBA (campus hire). 115k base, 15k signing bonus, 2.5k relocation."
Or, how about this from the IBM Message Board titled Raises:
"In recent years, the raises for B7 and higher are either zero or negative. From the PwCC acquisition, raises were -25%, -7%, and -3%. There is no budget for raises for next year. Band 6s do have some bump. Bonuses are sickly amusing....after all the work to get good scores, the bonus pool for your group may be so low, your bonus might buy you lunch."
