Mark Thornton
Mark Thornton is the former Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for JPMorgan Private Bank in London. He is now the world's first executive meditation coach. He is the monthly meditation teacher at The New York Times, and teaches staff at companies such as the United Nations, JPMorgan and TIAA-CREF. Mark is the author of Meditation in a New York Minute.
Mark has travelled to 16 different countries, met more than 30 spiritual teachers and spent more than 3,000 hours learning and teaching meditation in one year. Mark has trained with a number of enlightened masters since he was 14, and has learnt ways to achieve samadhi (or bliss consciousness) in everyday life.
His is the director of a company called Project Bliss, which aims to enliven the human spirit to the power that lies within. He has appeared on the UK's highest rated morning television program GM/TV. He does charity work and teaches mediation to students at a junior high school in Harlem.
On June 25 2005, Mark Thornton and Deepak Chopraâs company, The Chopra Center, entered into a formal Promotional Agreement. The Chopra Center has provided a wealth of support, including Deepakâs books, tapes and videos and on line videos. Deepak is one of the most powerful communicators on spiritual matters, and is a true leader and visionary.
He is the author of Meditation in a New York Minute: Super Calm for the Super Busy. He has taught at the Jacob Javitz Center in New York City and was a featured speaker at the SELF Magazine's Work Out in Central Park. He has worked with the United Nations to teach meditation in Times Square.
