Don't Retire - Rewire - How to Discover Your Next Career

Jeri SedlarJeri Sedlar has been doing research on personal growth and change for over 15 years. First in her role as partner in an executive search firm, and prior to that as Editor-at- Large of Working Woman magazine. She has interviewed hundreds of business professionals, entrepreneurs and pre-retirees about their hopes, expectations and fears about the future.

Although Don't Retire, Rewire was written with the mature worker in mind (code: over 40), Jeri's book can help anyone willing to invest the time and effort to think about - and answer the numerous quizzes throughout the book. If you hate going to work everyday, spend some time here on Total Picture Radio with Jeri - and invest some time learning about your personal drivers in Don't Retire, Rewire.

With our new global economy and changing demographics Jeri works to ensure that both individuals and organizations are aware of the opportunities and implications of The New Retirement. She travels the country talking on "retirement risk and reward" from the employee and employer standpoint. Jeri is a Senior Advisor to The Conference Board on Mature Workforce Issues, I met Jeri at the launch party of Eons - Jeff Taylor’s new company celebrating life between 50 and 100.

Sedlar has over 20 years of experience in the consumer marketing and professional services arena. As the former Editor-at-Large of Working Woman magazine, she motivated audiences into recognizing and eliminating the physical and psychological issues that are perceived barriers to their success. She also served as Director of Corporate Affairs for the Working Woman/Working Mother Group, where she worked such key issues as work/life balance, female entrepreneurship, and flextime in conjunction with the Small Business Administration and the U.S. Department of Labor. Sedlar has been interviewed for NBC’s Today show and Nightly News with Tom Brokaw and is frequently quoted in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Reader’s Digest, and Bottom Line Personal. Sedlar sits on the board of several non-profit organizations and is only the second woman to sit on the board of the USS Intrepid Sea*Air*Space Museum. She is currently a board member of Charles & Colvard, a NASDAQ-traded company, and resides in New York City with her co-author husband.
