Podcast - 21 Min:

James Mapes Biography:

Mapes is the author of the highly praised and best selling book, Quantum Leap Thinking: An Owner's Guide to the Mind. He is the founder and president of The Quantum Leap Thinking Organization which aims to give people the tools to reinvent and renew themselves by overcoming obstacles to high achievement. James Mapes' success as a speaker and as an authority on creativity, communication, teamwork and coaching traces back to his training as an actor and experience as a theatrical producer. He studied at California State University, graduating in 1969 with a Master of Arts degree in theater. He worked in repertory theater, off-Broadway and directed two of his own theater companies before appearing regularly on daytime TV. His film credits include Three Days of the Condor, Taxi Driver, Star Trek VI, Star Trek: First Contact, Do You Wanna Know a Secret? and Conversations with God. As an actor James developed a unique stage presence, confidence and a special talent for connecting with his audience. His experience producing and directing led to a cutting edge understanding of the dynamics of successful teams.

In 1972, James Mapes broadened his studies to include psychology, philosophy, neurology and hypnotherapy. Mapes also founded the New York Hypnosis Center and, as a clinical hypnotist, has worked with weight reduction, smoking cessation, the elimination of phobias and pain reduction for terminally ill cancer patients. As a skilled practitioner of "age regression" he helped the New York City Police Department in "memory recovery" with both witnesses to, and victims of, crime. In addition, he has worked with athletes to help improve their performance.

Mapes lives his own message of continuous learning, focus, educated risk-taking & celebration. His many interests range from scuba diving, Martial arts, ballooning and racecar driving to philosophy and science - much of which becomes integrated into his lectures and writings. James Mapes is a speaker who makes a lasting difference in the energy level, commitment and productivity of each individual in his audience.

James J. Mapes at Lincoln Center

You are invited you to an event at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center  on April 19, 2007 from 1pm-5pm that will truly change the way you think - about your goals, vision and purpose in life.

It's called Quantum Leap Thinking: A Whirlwind Tour of the Mind This riveting exploration of the mind and rousing celebration of the imagination is designed to empower people with the simple and effective skills which lead to clearer thinking, enhanced creativity, and higher productivity.

Through dramatic exercises with the entire audience, Mapes will demonstrate how we get "stuck" in thinking that limits our ability to perform at our best and how the power of the mind and imagination can be used to reframe challenges and avoid the "intelligence trap" – that "logical" way of thinking that inhibits creative thought, blocks new ideas, stifles innovation, and limits potential.
Assumptions will be shattered.
Mindsets, challenged.
Productivity... unleashed.

In business and in life, the way people view change and manage their minds can make the difference between defeat, mere survival or Quantum Leaps. By understanding how certain beliefs and mindsets get in the way of making real progress in today's business world, you can achieve levels of performance you never thought possible.
