"Blue Man Group, started as an outrageous idea: We wanted to inspire creativity in both our audiences and ourselves. We wanted to speak "up" to the intelligence of our audience members while reaching "in" to their childlike innocence. We wanted to create a special kind of company, a place where people continually learn and grow and treat each other with just a little more consideration than is usually evident out in the 'real world.' We wanted to recombine influences to create something new. And we wanted to have a good time doing it." Matt Goldman, CEO Blue Man Group Blue Man Group is best known for their wildly popular theatrical shows and concerts which combine music, comedy and multimedia theatrics to produce a totally unique form of entertainment. The blissful party atmosphere created at their live events has become the trademark of a Blue Man Group experience. Currently, their live stage shows can be seen in New York, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Orlando, Berlin, and Tokyo. Blue Man Group also frequently tours and is on its Megastar World Tour this year. ![]() Blue Man Group Creative Process Chris Wink Biography Chris Winks educational life began at an experimental elementary school located within Teachers College at Columbia University. The program emphasized creative writing and scientific exploration and less about "the basics". From grades 7 through 12, Chris attended the Fieldston School where he learned the basics. At Wesleyan University he majored in American Studies with a concentration in art history and pop culture and also studied drumming. Upon graduation, he found a day job working with a Japanese company and at night, he played drums in bottom-tier NY post-punk bands. Then, he became a fulltime "cater-waiter" at Glorious Foods where he began planning Blue Man Group's first event, "Funeral For the 80's" with his two friends, Matt Goldman and Phil Stanton. Since Blue Man Group theatrical show opened at the Astor Place Theatre, Chris has been working at Blue Man Group full time ever since.
