Twitter and the Micro-Messaging Revolution: Communication, Connections, and Immediacy--140 Characters at a Time.
Sarah Milstein Welcome to a social networking savvy podcast of Total Picture Radio with Peter Clayton reporting. Thanks to a networking referral from Marci Alboher on Linkedin, I was introduced to our guest: Sarah Milstein.
"As people have come to share much more what's in their heads, rather than what's on their plates, it's become a place the people of all ages want to spend time." Sarah Milstein
Here's a short background: Sarah, an O'Reilly alum, was previously the company's Chief Publishing Evangelist and before that, Managing Editor, Senior Editor, and Editor, leading the development of the Missing Manuals, a bestselling series of computer books for non-geeks. She's also written for the series, co-authoring Google: The Missing Manual (1st ed 2004; 2nd ed 2006). Before joining O'Reilly in 2003, Sarah was a freelance writer and editor, and a regular contributor to The New York Times. She was also a program founder for Just Food, a local-food-and-farms non-profit, and co-founder of Two Tomatoes Records, a label that distributes and promotes the work of children's musician Laurie Berkner.
Most of this conversation is centered on an area of Sarah's expertise, Twitter. She wrote the book on it. Literally. It's called Twitter and the Micro-Messaging Revolution: Communication, Connections, and Immediacy--140 Characters at a Time. -- you'll find a link (click read more) in resources to the O'Reilly site where you can download a free excerpt of the report.
