While the future continues to change dramatically, one constant remains unchanged: what ensured past success will also secure future success regardless of the changing business dynamics, and that constant is people. A workforce that is committed to your company's success is a workforce that experiences mutual trust and respect with its management team.

In this Big Picture Channel Podcast on TotalPicture Radio, Tim Garrett, former chief people officer of Honda of America Mfg, offers his first-hand experience leading his people function in such a way that Honda successfully evolved in an ever-changing global competitive environment. During his tenure, Tim helped the company to remain the oldest non-union automotive manufacturer in North America. Tim is a keynote speaker at this week's HRPS Global Conference in New York.

Tim Garrett has over 33 years of hands-on practical experience in the HR/labor relations field. As the former CHRO for Honda of America Mfg., Garrett played an important role in the growth and success of the organization, which had over 13,000 associates and revenue exceeding $15 billion. With the rapid expansion of the global automotive industry and the fluid changes taking place, he helped guide Honda through numerous strategic changes to strengthen the competitiveness of the organization. He was able to achieve strong support from the associate workforce, who repeatedly rejected union organizing drives, by striking a balance between the needs of Honda and the associates. Tom currently serves as principal of Diversified Performance Solutions, a consulting company dedicated to helping companies become better, stronger and more competitive.
