On your blog, kirstendixson.com you refer to yourself as an online identity expert – what are some of the most important things we need to do to promote ourselves online?

What about protecting our online identity?

One of the things I'm interested in regarding this whole concept of personal branding is – if done well - you will no longer be hunting for your next job. Instead, as you and William write in Career Distinction, "opportunities will come to you". What are the steps we need to take to reach that goal?

You were quoted in a CareerJournal article titled How Blogs Are Changing The Recruiting Landscape. According to the article, many recruiters are now surfing blogs to find job candidates – I would like to discuss blogging more with you because – specifically talking about online savvy - I think having a great blog can do more for an individual's career than almost any other online branding strategy.

Here's something I constantly struggle with. I'd love to update my LinkedIn page and spend time building my Facebook identity and write reviews on Amazon of books I've read and add some articles to Squidoo – but there are only so many hours in a day – so help me here Kirsten – what's really important? If I can only do one or two things – what should they be?

William told me you were one of the very first people to take his Reach Branding class – and, of course that led to your co-authoring Career Distinction – is this the first book you've written?
